During the product manufacturing, we need a tool to burn the bootloader, kernel, file system image and data image to NAND flash. There is two ways to burn the NAND flash: one is via the USB, another is via a NAND flash programmer. USB mode can only be used on a CPU that supports USB boot, you can get it from the previous section.

Here we provide the reference hardware design and software code of the NAND flash programmer for our customers. The main functions have:

• Independent of any ethernet and PC environments;
• Support any types of image, including Linux, WinCE, uCOS, FAT and YAFFS2 images etc;
• The system is booted from NOR flash and running the Linux OS;
• The image files are stored on SD card and read by the burning program and written to NAND flash;
• Bad block management during the burning;
• CRC checking during the burning;
• The burning speed is optimized.
